What Pointy stores

Pointy stores your boards, scores, player names and colours, the 200 most recent changes per game, and Game Master settings such as when quiet games file themselves away. Convex stores this data with a random device identifier. This keeps scoring in sync and lets Restore purchases bring your boards back on the same store account. Pointy does not require your name, email or password to use the app.

How Pointy uses it

Convex stores the app data needed for scoring, archived games and shared boards. RevenueCat processes subscription status, an anonymous app-user identifier, device information and purchase information from Apple or Google. Pointy has no product analytics, advertising identifier or third-party crash reporter. Cloudflare serves the website and processes the network information needed to deliver each request. The website self-hosts its fonts and code; a live board connects to Convex to fetch its scores.

Contact messages

If you choose to email Pointy, your email provider sends your address, message, and anything else you include to Pointy's support inbox. We use them to answer your request. For an early-access request, we also use your address to send the next step you asked for. Emailing us does not add you to an unrelated marketing list.

The message remains in Pointy's support inbox until Pointy deletes it during ordinary mailbox cleanup. Your email provider and Pointy's mailbox provider may retain delivery records or backups under their own retention and deletion policies. The website does not collect or store a separate copy of your email.

Shared boards

A share link shows the game name, player names and colours, and scores to anyone who has it, so treat it as public. It may keep showing frozen or final scores after sharing stops or the game ends. Close the share to hide the board; resetting its link or deleting the game makes the old link unusable. Shared-board pages are marked not to be indexed by search engines.

Payments

Apple and Google take the payment; Pointy never sees your card. RevenueCat stores an anonymous subscription identifier. For Game Master, Pointy links it to the random device identifier in Convex so Restore purchases can recover your boards on the same store account. Neither identifier contains your name or email. Cross-store recovery is not supported.

Children

Pointy is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should supervise younger players. If you enter a child's name, remember that a shared board makes that label visible to anyone with the link.

Deleting everything

Settings → About → Delete everything removes the device's games, scores, players, settings and share links from Pointy's database. Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep subscription records under their own retention rules. Write to hello@pointy.games if you also want Pointy's anonymous purchase link removed. Deleting app data does not delete messages from the support inbox; write to the same address if you want Pointy to delete correspondence it controls. Provider delivery records and backups remain subject to the providers' retention policies.

Changes to this page
